What is an Newborn Care Specialist / NCS ?
A highly trained infant specialist who comes into the home after birth or shortly after to care of the newborn. The outdated term of Night Nurse now updated to Newborn Care Specialist or NCS.
How far in advanced should I book?
Bookings are based on availability. To guarantee care in the time frame your needing, it's best to book as soon as you find out your expecting or about 6 weeks, assuming baby will arrive near due date.
Are you comfortable with family visiting?
Yes! Many of my clients have family or friends come visit or stay in the home after baby is born. Grandparents are the most common and I love meeting them! Many will contribute to daytime duties while I'm taking care of all the nights.
How much time will I need to book?
This depends on your needs and goals, I can help you figure this out. My typical contracts are 3 months. However I have worked as short as the 6 weeks postpartum period and as long as 6 months.
What is included in night care?
During the night, I provide all baby care. Feeds, diaper changes, burping, comforting, swaddling, sleep conditioning, bottle washing and minor nursery tasks. With my knowledge of typical baby needs, patterns and behavior- I help guide families through many milestones.
Ok with pets?
Yes! Many families I work with have animals. Most sleep while I'm there but love to say hello when I arrive each night. I ask that pets do not room with baby due to being a tripping hazard in the low lights or dark.
